Access to Physical Activity = Access to Health
Everybody Active Seed Grants inspire action and build community capacity for physical activity opportunities.
Everybody Active supports communities in removing barriers to physical activity for the health and well-being of lower income British Columbians
The health and social benefits of physical activity have been recognized for many years, yet many British Columbians experience significant barriers to active living.
Cost is often the number-one cited barrier to physical activity, but there are underlying factors related to social and economic situations that hinder participation.
It’s time to look beyond “free” and identify the root causes of why people don’t participate.
Everybody Active supports communities in learning about these social factors and collaborating with community members and partners to plan and implement strategies that address these issues.
Inclusion and access to physical activity may not end poverty, but it can improve the health and well-being of community members with the fewest resources.
Everybody Active was a joint initiative between the BC Recreation & Parks Association and the Heart & Stroke of BC and Yukon.
Income and social status should not determine who participates. Are you ready to get Everybody Active?
