HealthyFamilies BC helps British Columbians to better manage their own health and reduce chronic disease by focusing on four key areas: healthy eating, healthy lifestyles, resources for parents, and fostering healthy communities.

The Active Communities Initiative is a cross-sectoral initiative delivered by the BC Recreation and Parks Association, focused on supporting communities to increase physical activity levels of British Columbians by 20% by the year 2010.Â Funding for the initiative was not renewed for 2009-2010 but BCRPA will continue to offer components such as HIGH FIVE® and Everybody Gets to Play™. We will also continue to offer resources and opportunities to our BCRPA members and registered Active Communities.
